Strawberry-Daifuku (玉屋のいちご大福)


If you have sweet tooth, "Strawberry-Daifuku" is something you should try!

"Daifuku" is one of the traditional Japanese, round rice cake sweet bean paste inside.

And Strawberry Daifuku (ICHIGO-Daifuku in Japanese) is one variety of Daifuku, invented about 21 years ago.

With one bite.. first you feel very soft rice cake cover, then sweet bean paste and sweet-sour strawberry make harmony in your mouth!

It is fresh so you can not take back to your country - means this is one of the special Japanese sweets you can eat only here in Japan.

My favourite shop is "Tamaya". (sorry website Japanese only)
They were the first one put strawberry into the daifuku.
Shops are in Shinjyuku, Ginza, Ichigaya, and Yotsuya.

I love daifuku of all sweets so far I've tasted. The sweet bean one is just awesome. But I'm seeing the ichigo one for the first time. Yet to taste.
