Oedo Antique Market

If you would like to find real Japanese antique or unique only souvenirs at reasonable price, this is the best place to go.

Not many Japanese know yet, but there are some antique market is going on the weekend.

This "Oedo Antique market" at Tokyo International Forum is one of the biggest one in Tokyo.

Pottery, Old Japanese-style chest, classic Kimono, Pin, Bonsai, guard of a sword, etc...
Many professional stores are opened here, you will be surprised by their quality.

Usually it is held every 1st and 3rd Sunday, But unfortunately next market is in June 2008.
Time:9pm to 4pm, closed if it is rain.

Also, "Tokyo International Forum" itself is wonderful architecture.

Even the antique market is closed, it is worth to visit. It is a minute from "Yurakucho station" and another attraction, Bic camera!

Note:
  1. Sellers are mostly pro who is doing antique business for a long time. So you might should treat the product with respect. Too much discount negotiation mignt offend them.
  2. You might better ask first when you take pictures.

  3. Around 3pm some store already start to close. I recommend to visit there before 2pm at least.
  • Other antique market information in Tokyo area is here.
