Shiba-zakura and Strowberry picking in Chichibu
Look at this beautiful flowers ... This is "Shiba-zakura"(means lawn-cherry blossom) carpet at Hitsuji-yama park in Chichibu.
This place is wonderful one day trip from Tokyo at this season.
Chichibu is in Saitama Prefecture, about 1 and half hours by train from Tokyo.
Shiba-zakura is in bloom from end of April to early May.
Now it is Golden week holiday in Japan (From April 29 to May 6th) - a lot of people are visiting with family or friends. Walking around, then having lunch on the glass.
Altough it is so crowded, this place is worth to go. You can feel peaceful nature of country side.
You can also have fun with Strawberry picking! There are several strawberry picking place here.

*From Ikebukuro station to Yokoze station or Seibu-Chichibu by Seibu-Ikebukuro line
(1 hour and half by train)
*30 minute walk from Yokoze station to Hitsuji-yama park
@Note:
1, Few English sign there. Almost none. Follow peoples line if you got lost.
(I didn't see any international tourist. Also could not find tour info much in English. If you could bring Japanese speaking friend it's much easier.)
2, Wear comfortable shoes and bring some water. It's kind of hiking.
